ABOUT KATE & WHOLESTORY HEALTH
Every health story makes more sense when someone hears all of it.
I'm Kate Otremba, a doctorally trained nurse practitioner certified in functional medicine. I started WholeStory Health to practice the way I always believed care should work: unhurried, curious, and built around you.

WHY WHOLESTORY HEALTH
Too many stories get handed back in pieces.
For years I watched the same thing happen. People waited weeks for an appointment, got fifteen minutes, and left with a narrow set of labs and a plan that didn’t account for how they eat, sleep, work, or live. Their health got split across specialists and handed back to them to put together alone.
The name says what I want to do differently. Your health is a story, with a history, a setting, and people in it. When we look at the whole of it, patterns appear that no single test would show, and the path forward gets clearer.
WHAT I BELIEVE
Three beliefs shape every visit.
Healing happens in partnership.
You know your body and your life. I bring clinical knowledge and a framework for making sense of it. Neither is enough alone.
Health is more than what's measured.
Lab results matter, and so do sleep, stress, relationships, purpose, and how you feel when you wake up. All of it belongs in the conversation.
Your whole story matters.
The parts that never fit into a fifteen-minute visit are often the parts that explain the most. There's room for them here.

KATE'S BACKGROUND
Fifteen years of building better care
Kate has spent more than fifteen years in health care, most recently as Clinical Lead at the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing at Allina Health. There, she cared for patients directly while helping build one of the largest integrative and functional medicine programs in a conventional health system in the country.
She led the creation of group medical visits at Allina, a model that made preventive and integrative care available to more people. She has co-published on the WholeHealth Model, including a chapter in Integrative Nursing (Oxford University Press), and teaches clinicians and graduate students nationally.
Through it all, patients have been at the center: for six consecutive years, Kate ranked in the top 10% nationally for patient satisfaction.
